Covid-19 Update

In line with IWA’s charitable objective 1. The promotion of good health and wellbeing in particular by relieving sickness and disease:
On the 9th March 2020
The BOT consciously commenced showcasing and sharing factual information relating to the COVID-19, as IWA BOT’s response to the global pandemic. We believe that this policy has kept members and the wider community well informed while helping to reduce the stigma and anxiety associated with the new deadly corona virus (COVID-19)
On 11th March 2020 , the BOT advertised its first flagship IWA event which was due to take place on Easter Sunday 12th April 2020 at The Green Man 355 Bromley Road. London SE6 2RP.
In light of the evidence based information and advice provided by the British Government, Public Health England, World Health Organisation,
The IWA BOT held an emergency board meeting Wednesday 18th March 2020 and unanimously agreed to cancel the Easter Luncheon a new date will be announced as and when it is deemed safe to hold a public gathering.
As a registered charity and social support network IWA UK has a duty of care to support the infirm and vulnerable social groups in our community and wider society.
In response BOT has put in place measures to support especially the elderly during the uncertain times ahead when the British government will implement the total lock-down policy in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
