Iteso Welfare Association (IWA) UK has held a general meeting in London. The meeting took place at St Barnabas Church Hackney, Saturday 28 May 2016 .
Members reviewed the draft of the revised constitution of the Association. The revision of the constitution is being conducted following advice received from the Charity Commission during the re-instatement of IWA-UK as a registered charity.
Chairman Patrick Igulot presented the IWA strategic plan (ISP 2020). The meeting applauded ISP 2020 as good practice that can help the Association plan for the future.
The trustees presented various policies that have been developed to enable IWA UK comply with both its constitution and regulations for charities in the UK. These included:
- Financial Management
- Anti-money laundering
- Complaints
- Council of Elders
- Website terms and conditions
- Safeguarding vulnerable individuals and groups
- Health and Safety
Members were informed that the Annual General Meeting is expected to take place during the first weekend of July 2016.
